As someone who has fought and overcome mental illness, Jazz Thornton is thankful that she is still here. Now she is using her voice to tell her story and break the silence around mental illness.

Since leaving Timaru at 16, Jazz has gone onto co-found ‘Voices of Hope’, a non for profit charity aimed at providing hope to those struggling.

Alongside her work with the organisation, Jazz directed and produced a documentary called ‘Jessica’s Tree.’ This project shed light on a story of depression and suicide of one of Jazz’s best friends.

Now with 20 million views online, Jazz is travelling nationally and internationally bringing awareness to this epidemic and how we can make positive steps to improve community wellbeing.
