What Michael Venus has achieved for New Zealand tennis is truly incredible.

In 2017, he became New Zealand’s first grand slam winner since 1979, winning the French Open doubles title with longtime friend Ryan Harrison.

Off the back of his French Open performance, Michael made the finals of the US Open in mixed doubles and the semifinals of the Men’s Doubles at the ATP World Tour Finals, making him the first New Zealander ever to have made it to the semis of the ATP World Tour Finals. Finishing the 2017 season ranked 12th in the ATP World Men’s Doubles Rankings, placing him in great standing to continue his winning ways in 2018.

Michael is passionate about mentoring young Kiwis in tennis to assist their development and following the right pathways to make it on the world stage.

Spending a lot of time travelling around the world with the ATP tour, Michael always takes the time to embrace the local culture and soak up everything on offer. His ideal holiday, however, is being home and being in the outdoors, catching waves at Waihi beach.
